STUDY HIGHLIGHT
PI: Sara Pereira, MD
Project: Randomized comparison of the clinical Outcome of single versus Multiple Arterial grafts: the ROMA Woman trial
Sponsor: Weill Cornell Medicine. The University of Utah is participating as a study site with Dr. Pereira as the site lead PI.
Background: Currently, an artery is used for the first graft and either an artery or vein is used for a second graft during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. It is unclear if either an artery or a vein is better for the second graft. The purpose of this study is to determine if one is better than the other
Study Design: Participants are eligible if they are at least 18 years of age, female, and underwent isolated CABG for coronary artery disease, without disease of the right coronary artery. If enrolled, they will be followed for 180 days. Participants will be randomized to either a single arterial graft (SAG) or multiple arterial grafts (MAG) in a 1:1 randomization.
