Clinical Neuromuscular Training
The clinical neurophysiology EMG fellowship provides training to treat several types of neuromuscular disorders, including:
- Motor neuron disease
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Muscular dystrophy
- Pediatric neuromuscular disorders are seen in the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) clinic and in primary children’s hospital
Fellows also receive training in the following clinics:
- General neuromuscular clinic
- Neuromuscular inpatient consult service
- Botulinum toxin clinic
Neurophysiologic Training
Fellows are exposed to various aspects of neurophysiologic training, including:
- Routine nerve conduction studies
- Electromyography
- Pediatric EMG single fiber
- EMG: emphasis on quantitative methods in EMG including SFEMG, QEMG, and motor unit estimation
- Quantitative sensory testing
Formal Didactic Education
We provide fellows with formal didactic education. Our educational program includes:
- Weekly muscle and nerve biopsy reading
- Weekly series on clinical neurophysiology
- Monthly neuromuscular cpcs
- Weekly grand rounds
- Monthly neuromuscular journal club
Application
Applicants may apply if they live in the U.S. or outside the United States.
None of our fellowships require application through a central matching agency. Instead, fellowships in our program may be secured outside a formal match.
