Together, we can ensure that the conditions of work promote the health and well-being of workers and communities.
The Utah Center for Promotion of Work Equity Research (U-POWER) is a research and outreach center dedicated to the pursuit of safe, healthy, and equitable work. Our research takes many forms, including learning about what makes employees feel supported at work; how environmental service workers, a critical but oft-ignored group of employees in healthcare, can achieve well-being; and how we have—or haven't—talked about power in the occupational health literature up to this point. We also fund pilot research from researchers across disciplines on topics as varied as the needs of agricultural workers, the effect of union membership on how workers experienced COVID-19, state-level markers of power, and the experiences of remote women staff in academia.
Looking for resources to help your workplace? Check out our Research Clearinghouse and the resources we've created. Want to check out one of U-POWER's monthly Lunch & Learn events? Learn more about them here. Or perhaps you're interested in how we can advise and support employers, community-based organizations, and workers. Curious about what we're up to on a daily basis? Check out our social media channels below. Whatever the reason you've joined us, we're glad to have you here. U-POWER recognizes that in order to achieve safe, healthy, and equitable work for everyone, we must join together workers and employers, researchers and professionals, and everyone else whose lives are shaped by the systems of work we live within today.
