Total Worker Health® Courses & Training
These online courses and training in Total Worker Health® principles provide opportunities to learn about implementing a culture of health within your organization as well as leadership-specific training in Total Worker Health (TWH). These courses provide insight into the benefits of a culture of health, integrating separate worker protection and promotion programs, and assessing leadership strategies that will improve worker well-being in your organizations.

The Center for Work, Health, & Well-Being at Harvard University offers a free self-paced course entitled Improving Your Business Through a Culture of Health on the EdX platform.
This course explores why businesses should adopt a culture of health and how to implement such a culture while reducing costs and increasing revenues. It also includes real-world examples of Culture of Health implementation that could apply to organizations.
The Center for Work, Health, & Well-Being also offers a course entitled Work Health and Well-being: Achieving Worker Health, which provides information on how to apply TWH approaches within your organization. During this online program, leading experts in the field help learners develop the skills to build a roadmap for integrating your company’s occupational safety and health promotion programs. Learning materials include how to master the foundations of health protection and health promotion, examine the value proposition for a Total Worker Health approach with a focus on organizational change models and case studies, and gain the skills to make the business case for Total Worker Health programs and employee well-being.
The Oregon Total Worker Health® Alliance offers several virtual or live classes that outline the basis of TWH that employers can share with occupational safety and health, workers' compensation, and human resource practitioners.
- Total Worker Health 101: The Basics is a 3-hour live or virtual course that defines terms and concepts essential to TWH, how organizations can effectively implement TWH, and the next steps for organizations.
- Total Worker Health Workplace Solutions is another 3-hour live or virtual class that builds upon the 101 course to identify evidence-based solutions, case studies, and tools, as well as strategies for workplace engagement and evaluation of solutions and interventions.
The Total Worker Health® Professional Program from the Center for Health, Work, & Environment is designed for business owners, executives, and senior managers as well as professionals in occupational safety, human resources, and public health. This online program will help learners understand the benefits of the TWH approach and how to masterfully apply it in any organization. Upon completing the course, learners will receive a certificate of completion. Approved for 6 continuing education credit hours for CHES®, CIH, CSP, and CPH.

The Center for Health, Work & Environment (CHWE) offers a low-cost ($45) 1-hour self-paced course entitled Total Worker Health® Leadership 101 intended for individuals interested in learning how to become leaders in their organization who can drive organizational change to achieve Total Worker Health® (TWH), including business owners, executives, and senior managers, benefits and HR professionals, occupational health and safety, and public health.
Want something more in-depth and specialized than Total Worker Health® Leadership 101? CHWE also offers an executive training program entitled Total Worker Health® Leadership where executives will receive personalized, data-driven feedback and develop an action plan to optimize the health, safety, and productivity of their workplace. Leaders can also provide and receive mentoring with peers, growing their network. Interested learners should contact CHWE for more details.
