Harold K. Dunn, MD, Orthopaedic Research Laboratory

The Orthopaedic Research Laboratory (ORL), located in the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center (UOC), specializes in a multidisciplinary biomechanical, computational, and clinical approach to answer questions related to orthopaedic pathology and the outcomes of tissue and joint repair and replacement. The 150,000 ft2 UOC is a state-of-the-art medical center located in the University's Research Park, approximately ½ mile south of University of Utah Hospital. This facility is the primary study site where patients are recruited and consented for clinical research, undergo screening radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging, and where clinical evaluation occurs.

This research laboratory occupies 6000 ft2 divided between two wet labs (1200 ft2), a machining/tool room (500 ft2), and over 3000 ft2 of dedicated office space for laboratory technicians, graduate students, postdoctoral staff and visiting clinicians, a conference room, and three offices for the full-time PhD faculty.
