Why Utah Pediatric HemOnc? There was an air of positive energy and camaraderie on my interview day. Everyone I met truly made me feel welcome. I even had the chance to join the clinic team for an "end of chemo" celebration on interview day! The atmosphere coupled with stellar training and endless opportunities that align with my interests (specifically in regards to medical education) made this an easy choice.
What's your favorite part about living in Salt Lake City? I have fallen in love with the mountains. It is like living within a painting!
What cool research/advocacy/education/scholarly work are you participating in? I am working on developing an interactive, multidisciplinary case-based teaching tool for vascular anomalies that can be used by trainees and practitioners in general pediatrics as well as pediatric hematology, dermatology, otolaryngology, surgery and interventional radiology.
What are your plans following fellowship? I am open to the possibilities but currently plan to pursue a general Peds HemOnc position that includes caring for patients with vascular anomalies. I would love to work within an academic institution so that I may continue to engage with trainees and delve further into graduate medical education.
