About Me
I am from Oregon, which is where my love for nature and outdoor activities began. I lived in Oregon until graduating from Oregon Health & Science University in 2020. After graduating, my husband and I moved to Minnesota to start our respective residency programs. While completing my pediatric residency program, I became more involved in global health and was able to travel to Tanzania for an elective rotation. After graduating from pediatric residency in 2023, I was a Global Pediatrics Instructor at the University of Minnesota. During that year I continued to foster my interest and experience in global pediatrics. This was done through work in a general pediatrics clinic on the White Earth Reservation in northern Minnesota and by spending five months in Tanzania working in a pediatric unit at a local hospital. While in Tanzania I made amazing connections with local healthcare workers and participated is some great projects. It was a truly amazing experience.
Why Utah?
When I learned about the amazing PEM training and global health opportunities at Utah, I was immediately interested. Speaking to faculty during my interview day was inspiring and Utah felt like the best fit. It was also a great way for me to move closer to home and live in a naturally stunning state!
