About Me
Residency: Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI
Dr. Nolan is from Michigan, where he grew up spending summers on the water and at his grandparents’ farm. A lifelong student, he pivoted to medicine after working as an engineer helping build two hospitals. He attended medical school and pediatrics residency at Michigan State University before heading out to the mountain west for neonatology fellowship. In addition to the stunning scenery, he was most drawn to the University of Utah faculty’s commitment to fellow education and the wide range of pathology. His research interests include quality improvement and human factors engineering, and he aspires to a career that bridges clinical practice and administration. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and the newfound excitement for trail running.
