  • About Me

I was born and raised in Lebanon, a country rich in history with its eye on the future. It offers beach, city, mountains, and nature, all within an hour drive. I remember the days I used to ski/snowboard then drive back to the city to enjoy tanning at the beach. However, due to the political and economic crisis, I had to leave my country to advance my medical career. I started my journey in Gainesville, FL as a research coordinator/postdoctoral associate. I was mainly involved in studies that looked into innovative treatments for pediatric neuromuscular diseases which included Pompe disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Afterwards, I matched into a pediatric residency program at the University of Florida - Jacksonville. As much as I loved training and living in Florida, I’m looking forward to a new adventure in Utah!

    WHY UTAH?

I have no family or any connection in Utah, but I can safely say interviewing with the people of the U was love at first sight (for me at least). I immediately sensed the respect and care for fellows and colleagues as well as the high quality evidence based medicine that is practiced. After the interview, I did a little research and found out that is actually a beautiful place which made my decision easier. I’m very excited to do some exploring and embrace my outdoor self.
