About Me
As much as I loved growing up and going to school in Southeastern Virginia, I knew that residency would be a great opportunity to get out of my comfort zone both personally and professionally. The program at University of Utah met that need with a number of attractive qualities: large catchment area, medical complexity, strong inpatient and outpatient training, opportunities to treat a diverse and underserved population, and, of course, unparalleled access to the outdoors. But I never would have chosen the program if I didn't believe that the people were absolutely genuine, friendly, and unconditionally supportive. It was so evident on my interview day, even through Zoom. I've never experienced such strong camaraderie as I have with my fellow residents, which started at our amazing intern retreat at Flaming Gorge. Finally, this program makes a special effort to support significant others both in and outside of medicine, which is so invaluable during the tough residency years. I'm so happy to be a part of this family and wouldn't have it any other way.
