About Me

About Me

I grew up on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana, which has made me passionate about rural medicine and working with underserved populations. I chose to train at the University of Utah for many reasons. First, they have very strong Pediatric and Internal Medicine programs with a large breadth of patient populations as they are a referral center for a significant portion of the Mountain region of the US. Second, it was very evident in the interactions I had during interview season and beyond that the culture is laid back, yet very supportive and adaptive to my needs for training to be a rural physician. I am excited to be the first trainee to go through the MedPeds Rural Training Track! Finally, the people and the program support a healthy lifestyle, with lots of opportunities to do the things I love, such as fly fishing, trail running, open water swimming and hiking with my dogs.
