Academic Bio
Ms. Jan Johnson is Director of Research (Finance and Human Resources) and a member of the Utah DCC Executive Committee. Ms. Johnson has an extensive background in research, finance, and human resources. She has worked in the health care industry in finance, education (recruiting residents and fellows), and research administration for +25 years. Since 2012 when joining the Utah DCC the organization has more than doubled in size. During this time, Ms. Johnson has provided strategic leadership as the organization has grown related to staffing, faculty, finance and operational strategies. Her research background was launched while working as the administrative director for the three University of Utah sites of the National Children’s Study (Salt Lake County UT, Cache County UT, and Bear Lake, Lincoln and Uinta Counties of WY). Prior to coming to the UofU, Ms. Johnson worked for Intermountain Healthcare in patient account management and the health insurance business for 11 years. She is a Utah State University graduate in Administrative Systems and Business Administration.
