Academic Success is Dedicated to Accessibility

The School of Medicine maintains a cooperative and collaborative relationship with the Center for Disability and Access (CDA) and the Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. The Directors of the Academic Success Program serve as the liaisons between the medical school and these University of Utah offices.

ADA Accommodation Requests

Students requesting ADA accommodations must complete the CDA (Center for Disability and Access) Intake Form

CDA supports students with disabilities by reviewing documentation, determining eligibility, and coordinating reasonable accommodations in accordance with federal law and University policy. Meet with an Accessibility Consultant either in person or virtually over Zoom to discuss the disability and limitations presented in the academic setting. Students are encouraged to apply early, as accommodations are not retroactive.

Once accommodations are approved, CDA will notify course instructors, SOM Curriculum Director, and ASP representative. Please note that after notification is received, the SOM Curriculum Unit requires two business days to implement approved accommodations.
