Welcome Nicolas Contreras, MD
Dr. Contreras graduated from general surgery training at the Rochester Mayo Clinic in June 2021 and joined our fellowship program in July 2021.
Dr. Contreras has been an outstanding fellow and academic surgical trainee. His passion is complex esophageal surgeries including endoscopy and endovac to peroral endoscopic myotomy and complex reconstruction including supercharged colonic interpositions. He is also passionate about ensuring structured education in bioethics within Cardiothoracic Surgery. Nico has been a very capable and kind, superbly technical fellow throughout his two years of training.
With these professional goals at the forefront of Dr. Contreras’s vision, U of U Health Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery was excited and pleased to hire Dr. Contreras as Assistant Professor.
We are very happy to join Dr. Contrera’s on his professional journey and welcome him and his family to the Utah family.
