What's next for Dr. Barker?
I started working at the University of Utah in 2016 in the community clinic setting. After 24 years of broad general surgery practice in New Mexico and Ohio, it was a refreshing change of pace. Even a surgical practice can become a “job”, but working with the faculty and residents here made it fun again. It has been a privilege associating with all of you.
I’m retiring from clinic and the OR, but will carry on with endoscopy. It’s a nice transition. We plan to travel more: dragging our Airstream around the country, exploring the outback of Utah, and visiting foreign lands on our bucket list. I also plan to improve my welding skills and other handyman stuff. Thank you all for your friendship and support.
