What's Next for Dr. Poretta?
After working in private practice and community hospital settings for 20 years it was an honor to be welcomed back to the University of Utah where I completed my general surgery training. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to finish the last 11 years of my career as a surgeon at the Univ of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute. Working in this setting allowed me to extend my care and serve a diverse population of patients. I have genuinely enjoyed working with the students, residents, and excellent staff in the clinics and ORs at all the University sites.
In retirement I plan to travel and spend more time with family and friends. I look forward to having more time to enjoy my active lifestyle (skiing, cycling, hiking). I will be living part time in Costa Rica enjoying the tropical climate, beaches, and amazing wildlife.
