This Grand Rounds session will feature Fabian Johnston, MD, MHS, discussing the future of surgical palliative care. Johnston is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Oncology, Jacob C. Handelsman, MD Professor of Abdominal Surgery, Chief of the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology division Chief, and Medical Director of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Cancer Service Line. Johnston’s research interests include the utilization of highly innovative and novel strategies for the implementation of patient-centered models of care to improve the utilization of palliative care amongst patients with advanced gastrointestinal malignancies.
