We provide opportunities for family medicine residents to experience care of the older adult across the continuum of care through an understanding of their health care needs, functional status, and resources available to the older population.

Opportunities Throughout Residency

A four week geriatrics rotation for all UUFM residents is scheduled during the third year curriculum. This required rotation emphasizes outpatient care of older adults, a patient-centered, holistic, team approach to care, and needs of underserved populations.

In addition to clinical training sites, there are opportunities to participate in teaching and didactics throughout residency, and care for a continuity panel of geriatric patients at Centerville, Madsen, or Sugarhouse clinic.
