Karen Schliep, PhD, MSPH was recently selected to participate in the 2020-2021 Biomedical Data Science Innovation Lab. Dr. Schliep was nominated by the Clinical and Translation Science Program at the U and successfully navigated a competitive process to receive her selection. As a result, she will participate in the Innovation Lab’s year-long workshops, culminating in a five-day fully covered residential workshop at Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, VA next July. The workshop program is focused on neuroscientific analytics and integration for quantitative and biomedical researchers. The goal of the lab is to foster the development of early-career biomedical investigators and quantitative investigator teams. As a member of the workshop, Dr. Schliep will tackle data science challenges arising from the use of large-scale neuroscience related data. Dr. Schliep and her peers in the program will be supported in the development of proposals for submission to funding agencies, including NIH and NSF, at the conclusion of the workshop.
