DFPM Faculty and Alumni Featured in New U Health COVID-19 Vaccine Video

Vaccinating the public is one of the most important undertakings of this phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. A new video from University of Utah Health encourages Utahans to get the vaccine while still following public health guidelines of keeping adequate distance from others, wearing masks, and washing hands. Featured in the video were Department Chair Kola Okuyemi, MD, MPH, Family Medicine assistant professor Jessica Jones, MD, MSPH, Family Medicine Residency Program alumni Richard Ferguson, MD, MBA and Physician Assistant alumna Menerva Lobe, MPAS, PA-C.

DFPM's involvement in this important public service announcement is a testament of how much our department has done to help raise the visibility and promote the importance of COVID-19 vaccines. Through these efforts, both healthcare providers and the public can come together for better health outcomes for the entire state. "I have a one-year-old and a three-year-old at home, and my husband is high risk," says Dr. Jones in the video. "I want to do all that I can to keep them safe. And I know that the COVID vaccination is helping me to do that."
