On Friday, March 12, friends, family, and colleagues of Michael Magill, MD gathered electronically to celebrate his many contributions to the field of Family Medicine, the administration of healthcare in Utah, and the leadership of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. The retirement event included an overview of Dr. Magill's illustrious career, touching on his leadership of healthcare systems in Arizona, Florida, and Utah, as well as the presentation of a special Governor's Commendation from former Utah governor Gary Herbert. Attendees were given opportunity to praise their interactions with Dr. Magill and wish him well in his next adventures following his retirement. A presentation of a department retirement gift, a deluxe camp chair accompanied by a bobble-head style doll made in Dr. Magill's likeness, was presented by Department Chair Kola Okuyemi, MD, MPH.
