On March 4, Mia Hashibe, PhD Mia Hashibe, PhD received notification from University of Utah President Ruth Watkins that she had been selected as a recipient of the University of Utah Distinguished Scholarly and Creative Research Award for 2021. The award celebrates Dr. Hashibe’s contributions to the research and scholarship in her field. "Please accept my appreciation for the excellence of your contribution to the academic excellence of the University of Utah," writes President Watkins in the letter. "I am certain your colleagues and students will join me in congratulating you upon the occasion of your receiving this exceptional recognition.” Along with the award, Dr. Hashibe will be featured in the 2021General Commencement award recipient video, and will receive a $10,000 grant to use in her research.
