DFPM is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy J. Biggs to the position of Division Chief for the Division of Occupational and Environmental Health. Dr. Biggs was officially named by Department Chair Kola Okuyemi, MD, MPH on Friday, May 7, and the change was announced to the department on May 17.
Dr. Biggs has a long and impressive record of service to the U and the department. He is Medical Director for both the Workwellness Clinic and the RedMed Clinic, and is Medical Director of Occupational Medicine for the University of Utah Environmental Health and Safety Office. Over his career, he has specialized in firefighter and police officer health, worker’s compensation claims, and hazmat duty examinations. Most recently, his work in helping the University and the state manage PPE shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic earned him a mention as one of Utah Business magazine’s 2020 Healthcare Heroes.
