University of Utah PA Students Win JAAPA Student Poster Competition

University of Utah Physician Assistant (PA) students have achieved a remarkable feat by winning the prestigious JAAPA Student Poster Competition for the second year in a row. Organized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), this competition recognizes outstanding research contributions by students in healthcare.

The winning poster, titled "Advanced Practice Clinician Antibiotic Prescribing Practices for the Treatment of Uncomplicated UTIs at University of Utah Emergency Department Urgent Care," explores optimal antibiotic use for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in the University of Utah Emergency Department Urgent Care setting. Contributors to the poster included Karina Fasig, Kevin Tyan, Whitney Mason, Laura Zdziarski-Horodyski, and Alden Baker, MPAS, PA-C.

The University of Utah PA students and faculty were honored during the National Medical Challenge Bowl on Monday, May 22nd, where they were commended for their exceptional achievement.
