Frost, Bensen & Gren Book

Lisa Gren, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Division of Public Health at the University of Utah, is one of the authors of the recently published Global Research Ethics – Case Studies from International Research Contexts. Other authors and contributors to this book include L. Scott Benson, MD, Ph.D., MPH, Associate Professor in the Division of Public Health at the University of Utah, Caren Jean Frost, MPH, Ph.D., Associate Vice President for Research Integrity & Compliance at the University of Utah, and Margaret Carlson, Doctoral Student at the University of Utah.

The book explores several case studies organized to highlight common challenges in conducting research, with contributions from 68 individuals from 27 countries, in both the global North and global South. The book highlights similar and contrasting perspectives, intending that these examples will stimulate discussions about implementing research ethically when working across one or more global locations.

As stated in the book, “Global Research Ethics is a guide for students and their instructors to understand topics linked to research ethics from a more global perspective. Research plays a key role in identifying health disparity trends and evaluating interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of the populations at the individual, local, national, and global levels. Conducting ethically sound research is imperative in these contexts.”

You can read and purchase Global Research Ethics – Case Studies from International Research Contexts from Routledge on June 29, 2023.
