Last week the REACH U2 scholars and participating HBCU undergraduate research program scholars were hosted by Color the Wasatch at the Front Climbing Club. Scholars were able to try their hand at bouldering and rope climbing. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Color the Wasatch for their exceptional expertise and warm hospitality in making this event a memorable experience for our group.
Earlier, on June 10th, President Taylor Randall extended a warm welcome to the participants of the HBCU Summer Programs, including REACH U2, 5 for the Fight, and IMPACT, during a Presidential Welcome Party at the S.J. Quinney College of Law. The event was an excellent platform for program sponsors, directors, and scholars to come together and share insights into their respective programs and engagement.
Dr. Kola Okuyemi introduced the REACH U2 program and provided an overview of the program’s mission. The evening was filled with networking opportunities, as scholars introduced themselves and celebrated a successful kickoff of their research and internships. It was a remarkable occasion, highlighting the goals and achievements of these programs and developing a sense of community across all programs and partners. We sincerely thank President Randall for leading the invaluable initiative of establishing partnerships with HBCUs and for his unwavering dedication to fostering inclusivity, diversity, and equity across the University of Utah.
