DFPM Research Showcased During Annual Poster Summit

On April 16, 2025, the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine (DFPM) Education Committee hosted its 7th annual Education, Research, and Community Engagement Summit—a poster session designed to highlight interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation across the department.

The summit brought together a dynamic mix of learners, including Family Medicine residents and Public Health master’s and doctoral students, alongside faculty, staff, and researchers. Attendees mingled with presenters, enjoyed delicious appetizers, and cast their votes for their favorite posters.

This year, a total of 45 posters were displayed, representing a broad range of research projects: traditional research studies, literature reviews, protocol developments, and quality improvement initiatives.

“We are so pleased with how many people are willing to share their work with us,” said Education Committee Chair Lisa Gren, PhD. “This year’s posters went beyond research alone, touching on many aspects of scholarly and community-engaged work.”

More than just a showcase of research, the summit serves as a way to build connections, spark new ideas, and inspire future collaborations. Each year, the summit has continued to grow as a cornerstone event for the department, celebrating not only the research but also the people and passions that drive it forward.
