Public Health Certificate Overview
The Public Health Certificate equips students with a comprehensive understanding of how public health intersects with a variety of fields, including biostatistics, social behavior, epidemiology, policy and administration, and environmental public health through research, service, and education. Additionally, the certificate offers local professionals in the field a valuable opportunity to enhance their expertise and gain certification, empowering them to more effectively address public health challenges in their current roles.

To apply for a graduate certificate at the University of Utah, please follow the steps outlined below.
Once the following steps have been completed, applicants will receive notification via email of the final admissions decision.
- Complete an internal certificate application
- Submit unofficial transcripts to josue.martinez@utah.edu
International applicants, please note:
- International students must hold an H visa to be eligible for the certificate program, unless they are enrolled in a specified graduate program. F1 or J1 visas are only applicable if the student is currently admitted to a graduate program. Students who hold an F1 or J1 visa and are not admitted to a graduate program are not eligible for the certificate programs. Please direct all questions regarding international student eligibility for graduate certificates to International Student and Scholar Services.
