About Me
Dr. Katherine Arn was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. While obtaining her bachelor's degree in biology at the University of Central Florida, she also studied abroad with Semester at Sea, participated in sea turtle research, and was a member of the collegiate surf team. After her undergraduate education, she cycled 4,000 miles from Maine to Santa Barbara with the charity organization Bike and Build. She then attended medical school abroad at the American University of the Caribbean on the island of St. Maarten. Her interest in infectious diseases and global health grew as she was able to do clinical rotations in England, Vietnam, and the United States. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She chose to do her fellowship at the University of Utah due to the wide range of exposures and patient populations, as well as the outdoor opportunities. Her academic interests in infectious diseases include travel and tropical medicine, global health, and general infectious diseases. Dr. Arn graduated from the fellowship program in June 2024 and accepted a position as an Infectious Disease doctor with Intermountain Health at McKay Dee Hospital.
