About Me
Dr. Melissa Pender grew up near Seattle, Washington. She majored in biology and studied seabird ecology at Andrews University in Michigan. During medical school at Loma Linda University, she completed an additional year of training emphasizing global health, tropical medicine, and infectious disease clinical rotations. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Utah where she continues her training in the Infectious Diseases fellowship. Her professional interests include travel medicine and global health. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the ukulele, and learning new languages.
