Elizabeth (Betsy) Charron, PhD, MPH

Betsy Charron, PhD, MPH, is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and core faculty in the Program of Addiction Research, Clinical Care, Knowledge and Advocacy (PARCKA). Dr. Charron is a health services researcher and clinical epidemiologist working to improve access and quality of healthcare delivery for individuals with or at-risk of developing substance use disorders. Her primary interest is conducting clinical and population-based research on topics related to women’s health and addiction. Dr. Charron’s projects have focused on expanding access to perinatal substance use treatment, examining quality of care in reproductive health service provision, and evaluating clinical approaches to reduce the burden of substance use and related problems on pregnant/parenting individuals and their children. Dr. Charron received her PhD from Clemson University, MPH from Tulane University, and completed postdoctoral training at PARCKA.
