The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health supports the emotional needs of children with a physical illness. The department provides care for inpatient through our consultation service in the hospital and also outpatient care at our various locations.

Children with physical illness face all the medical challenges of their condition, often made more complex by the rapid physical growth and development of childhood. In addition to the challenges faced by the physically ill child and his family, there may be emotional bumps in the road during the child’s many developmental stages.

Our staff is uniquely experienced and prepared to support and assist children and families with emotional distress during a child’s acute or long-term illness or condition.

Our staff includes:

  • D. Richard Martini, MD (Director)
