The MSTP Admissions Committee is composed of faculty and current students. The committee evaluates several criteria, including (but not limited to) academic excellence, scientific background, research accomplishments, career motivation as a physician-scientist, leadership, and community service.
The MD Program Admissions Committee and the MSTP Admissions Committee work together to evaluate candidates' merit and qualifications. Evaluators explore applicants' motivation for seeking a medical degree, awareness, understanding of the medical profession, leadership, problem-solving skills, medical ethics, and interpersonal skills.
Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an in-person interview weekend. The interviews start on Thursday and end on Saturday. Candidates pre-select faculty they would like to meet with and interview with them on Friday. Throughout the weekend, there are a variety of social events (e.g., dinners and recreational activities).
