Quality Course Framework: This series of modules from the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at the University of Utah walks you through the full design process from setting objectives to evaluating outcomes.
The ABCD(s) of Smart Goals: This presentation outlines two helpful frameworks for developing learning objectives for sessions, courses, or programs.
Bloom's Taxonomy: Bloom's Taxonomy is helpful at several levels of the design process. When considering audience and degree, Bloom's shows the trajectory of lower-level skills to higher-level thinking. It also offers a vocabulary that can help ensure the learning objectives you write accurately reflect the knowledge, skill, and behavior level of your audience.
Aligning and Assessing Course Objectives: This presentation helps you to evaluate the effectiveness of your objectives and their relevance to the overall goals of the MD program.
Curriculum Design Template: This fillable document will walk you through each step of the backwards design process for designing sessions or courses.

Faculty Development "Snippets"
The following materials are provided to assist in the presentation of a faculty development “snippet” (Bar-on and Konopasek, 2014). Faculty development snippets are designed to be presented at meetings that faculty already attend. They should focus on one objective and be no longer than 20 minutes.
We offer customized levels of support for this process. You may:
- Feel free to download the template for use in your own faculty meetings
- Schedule a consultation to help you in developing the template (ideas for activities, help customizing your objective, etc.)
- Schedule a time for an educational expert to co-present during your faculty meeting
- Schedule a time for an educational expert to present the snippet for you
