Undergraduate Ambassador Program
The RUUTE Undergraduate Ambassadors program is designed to increase community engagement for those interested in pursuing graduate level school in the health sciences. Ambassadors will attend weekly professional development courses with the RUUTE staff and faculty as well as develop lesson plans to be taught to local middle schoolers in your community. Ambassadors will present these lesson plans to inspire young students to engage in the health sciences, while also gaining volunteer hours.
RUUTE Undergraduate Ambassadors is run with the first half being completed remotely and the second half either being completed remotely or in-person depending on the state of COVID-19. This program will last two semesters. Students must be committed to both semesters and plan on being enrolled next school year with their respected institution.
The first semester will consist of weekly lectures and/or workshops delivered to further help students be a competitive applicant, build robust curriculum for elementary students, professional development, and more. The second semester will consist of ambassadors conducting either in-person presentations at the local elementary schools near their undergraduate institution or virtual learning experiences that can be conducted synchronously or asynchronously.
All undergraduate students attending a college/university in Utah, Idaho, Wyomiong or Montana who are interested in pursuing a career in the health sciences are encouraged to apply to the program. The 2022 application for Undergraduate Ambassadors is now open!
RUUTE Ambassador Fellowship Program
The RUUTE Ambassador Fellowship Program is open to those who have already completed at least one year of the Undergraduate Ambassador Program. This will serve as an additional activity under your medical school application and allows you to take on a leadership role within RUUTE’s undergraduate ambassador program.
