The RUUTE Undergraduate Ambassadors program is designed to increase community engagement for those interested in pursuing graduate level school in the health sciences. Ambassadors will attend weekly professional development courses with the RUUTE staff and faculty as well as develop lesson plans to be taught to local middle schoolers in your community. Ambassadors will present these lesson plans to inspire young students to engage in the health sciences, while also gaining volunteer hours.
RUUTE Undergraduate Ambassadors is run through the fall and spring semesters, with the first half being completed remotely and the second half either being completed remotely or in-person depending on availability and preferences. This program will last two semesters. Students must be committed to both semesters and plan on being enrolled next school year with their respected institution.
All undergraduate students attending a college/university in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming or Montana who are interested in pursuing a career in the health sciences are encouraged to apply to the program.
The RUUTE Ambassador Fellowship Program is open to students who have completed at least one year in the Undergraduate Ambassador Program. This fellowship offers the opportunity to take on a leadership role within the RUUTE Undergraduate Ambassador team while enhancing your medical school application through continued service, mentorship, and engagement in rural and underserved health education.
