2026 Commencement Ceremony
We are so excited to celebrate this incredible accomplishment with you! A few commencement items of business to help you prepare:
- Regalia: All students who plan to walk in the 2026 Commencement Ceremony must wear regalia. This will be available to purchase from the campus store. Regalia (Cap/Tam, Gown, Tassel, and Hood) can be purchased online or at the University Store on Main Campus. It is very important that you pre-order your regalia or purchase them during the Graduation Fair on March 26 - March 28, 2026. Regalia can be ordered later; however, it will cost more, and the order may incur additional expedited shipping charges. We also can’t guarantee that regalia ordered at the last minute will arrive in time for the ceremony.
- Tickets: For this year’s commencement ceremony, because it will be held in the Jon M. Huntsman Center, no tickets will be needed. You are welcome to invite as many guests as you’d like.

M.D. graduates need to arrive by no later than 8:30 AM on the outdoor steps on the northwest side of the Huntsman Center for a class photo. Please arrive fully dressed in your regalia, including your tam, with your tassel to the right. Following the class photo, we will direct you to line up for the procession. Once lined up, all graduates will walk together to the West Tunnel for the procession into the arena.

Doors will open for guests at 9:00 AM. Guests will not be permitted to enter through the west tunnel with the graduates.

Accessibility for our guests and graduates is very important to us. For guest and graduate ADA accommodations (including parking and seating accommodations as well as ASL interpretation), please reach out to Cam Degraw (cameron.degraw@hsc.utah.edu).

It is anticipated that the ceremony will last 2 hours.

Please do not bring anything with you! After you walk across the stage, you will not be returning to your seat, so whatever you bring inside with you will need to go across stage with you. If it does not fit in your pocket- leave it with your loved ones!
You are welcome to bring your phone, wallet, keys, etc. as long as they fit in your pocket.

The Huntsman center will be following a clear bag policy that is typically in effect for their Athletic events. Guests will be allowed to bring a diaper bag or medical equipment if needed (which will be searched and tagged upon entrance). Because of the nature of the arena, strollers are not permitted in the venue.
There will be a bag check near the stadium which guests can check their bag. Please allow an extra 30 minute buffer to give yourself enough time to check the bag and enter the stadium.

The ceremony will be streamed on the School of Medicine homepage live on Friday May 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Please feel free to share this link with your loved ones who are unable to attend in-person!
