School of Medicine hosts 5th and 6th graders from West Valley City schools as part of Imagine U Day

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the University of Utah hosted fifth and sixth graders from four minority-majority schools for Imagine U Day. The event aimed to demystify college and introduce the possibility of pursuing postsecondary education.

For students interested in the medical field, the School of Medicine organized patient simulation workshops where students could learn about and practice ultrasound, intubation, scoping, and more.

A huge thank you to the Department of Anesthesiology's JEDI Council and Center for Patient Simulation for planning, directing, and running the School of Medicine's student experience. Special shoutout to Rachel Danowit, MD, Micah Baker, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, Soeren Hoehne, our ENT and neurosurgery colleagues, and medical students Tyler Smith and Danny Vilchez, who volunteered to make this event a huge success!
