About the Conference
The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah is excited to host the 62nd Annual Western Anesthesia Residents' Conference (WARC)!
The 2025 meeting will bring together multiple anesthesiology residency programs from the Western United States, offering a unique opportunity for residents, students, and fellows to present their work, including original research, quality improvement projects, and medically challenging cases. The conference also provides excellent networking opportunities for anesthesia trainees, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals.
About WARC
The Western Anesthesia Residents Conference (WARC) was founded in 1962 by Dr. Edmond “Ted” Eger II, renowned anesthesiologist and scientist who pioneered the development of modern inhaled anesthetics. The conference is held annually to give anesthesiology residents and medical students an opportunity to present their research, and is hosted by anesthesia departments in the Western United States. To honor Dr. Eger for his contributions, WARC has named an annual lectureship in his honor.
About the Department
Founded in 1973, the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah has a storied history of innovation and medical excellence; including assisting with the first implantation of the artificial heart, the entrepreneurial innovation of the fentanyl lollipop, recognition as a world leader in Total Intravenous Anesthesia and ultrasound guided blocks, and more. These achievements highlight the department’s continuous commitment to advancing the field of anesthesiology for years to come.
