Senior Resident Presentations Highlight Innovative Research and Curriculum Development

The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah recently showcased the latest work from two of our senior residents during our most recent morning conference. 

Dr. Linnea Dixson presented her work on "Curriculum Development: Awake Airway Simulation as a Case Study," where she explored innovative approaches to teaching airway management through simulation. Her presentation focused on how simulation-based learning can enhance the skills and confidence of anesthesiology residents when managing awake airways, a critical aspect of patient care.

Dr. Ty Tietjen delivered a presentation titled "Timeless Analgesia: Methadone's Intraoperative Renaissance," which revisited the use of methadone in the intraoperative setting. His research highlighted the renewed interest in methadone for its unique analgesic properties and its potential role in enhancing patient outcomes during surgery.
