Faculty Represent University of Utah at SAAAPM and SEA Annual Meetings
In early November, several of our esteemed faculty attended two major academic conferences in Chicago, Illinois, underscoring their dedication to advancing medical education and the professional development of future anesthesiologists.
Dr. Michelle Curtis, Dr. Rachel Danowit, and Dr. Steven Sams attended the Society for Education in Anesthesia (SEA) Fall Meeting, a gathering focused on the latest strategies and research in anesthesiology education. These faculty members engaged in discussions about teaching methodologies, curriculum innovations, and strategies to enhance learning for future anesthesiologists.
The following day, at the Society of Academic Associations of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine (SAAAPM) Annual Meeting, Dr. Michelle Curtis and Dr. Elizabeth Thackeray represented the University of Utah at the Association of Anesthesiology Core Program Directors (AACPD) conference. This event brought together program directors and education leaders to discuss innovations and best practices in anesthesiology training and curriculum development.
Both conferences reflect our faculty's ongoing commitment to fostering excellence in anesthesiology education—not only by teaching and mentoring the next generation of anesthesiologists but also by staying at the forefront of advancements in academic medicine.
These conferences highlight our faculty’s unwavering commitment to shaping the future of anesthesiology. By actively engaging in national conversations about education and leadership, they bring back valuable knowledge and tools that directly benefit our trainees and department.
We are proud to see our faculty representing the University of Utah and contributing to the evolution of anesthesiology education.
