Department Administrative Staff Give Back at Utah Food Bank
Last week, the administrative staff of the University of Utah’s Department of Anesthesiology took time to volunteer at the Utah Food Bank, coming together to support a vital community cause. In just one hour, the team packaged over 1,500 pounds of great northern beans, contributing to the food bank’s mission of fighting hunger across the state.
The experience was not only an opportunity to make a difference but also a chance to strengthen bonds within the department. The team was deeply impacted by statistics shared during the event, highlighting that approximately 1 in 6 children in Utah—about 12% of the state’s population—faces food insecurity. This staggering reality underscores the critical role organizations like the Utah Food Bank play in supporting the well-being of the community.
The department is proud to support this critical cause and encourages others to get involved. Whether through volunteering or donations, small efforts can collectively make a big impact in addressing food insecurity.
Thank you to our amazing administrative team for embodying the spirit of service and demonstrating the power of teamwork both inside and outside the department!
