Driving Innovation in NORA Safety: Dr. Candace Chang at ASA Advance 2025

Dr. Candace Chang, Director of Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) and Global Health for the University of Utah Department of Anesthesiology, recently shared her expertise at ASA ADVANCE: The Anesthesiology Business Event in Atlanta, Georgia. Held from January 31 to February 2, 2025, this annual conference brings together anesthesiology professionals to explore key topics such as coding, reimbursement strategies, quality improvement, and the evolving role of anesthesiologists in healthcare.

Dr. Chang was a featured panelist in “NORA Challenges: Creating a Safe Environment for Clinicians and Patients,” where she contributed her insights on optimizing patient care and clinician safety in non-operating room settings. Her leadership in both NORA and global health positions her at the forefront of efforts to improve anesthesia delivery in diverse and often complex environments.

We are proud to see Dr. Chang representing our department on the national stage and leading discussions that shape the future of anesthesiology.
