Dr. Harriet Hopf Honored in Utah Women Mural at SLCC
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Dr. Harriet Hopf was honored as part of the Utah Women Mural, a large-scale public art project recognizing over 350 influential women who have shaped the state’s history. The mural was officially unveiled on March 6, 2025, at Salt Lake Community College’s South City Campus, where it will remain a permanent exhibit as part of SLCC’s art collection.
The 1,000-square-foot mural, commissioned by Zions Bank and conceived by artist Jann Haworth, expands on the original 4,000-square-foot Utah Women Mural in downtown Salt Lake City, adding 100 new figures to highlight the ongoing contributions of Utah women across generations. The unveiling event brought together community leaders, artists, and honorees for an evening of celebration and recognition.
Dr. Hopf’s inclusion in this mural reflects her impact as a leader in medicine, education, and advocacy, inspiring future generations of women in Utah and beyond. As an esteemed physician and mentor, her work continues to elevate the field of anesthesiology and medical education.
This project not only honors the achievements of Utah women but also serves as a lasting symbol of empowerment and progress.
