Anesthesiology Team Inspires Future Healthcare Leaders at Saturday Academy

A huge shoutout to the incredible educators from our department who spent a Saturday morning inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. As part of the Saturday Academy—a University of Utah Health initiative that brings over 120 elementary through high school students to campus to explore surgical specialties—our anesthesiology team was proud to participate!

Saturday Academy introduces students in grades 4–12 to careers in medicine through engaging, hands-on experiences. Students are brought in from across the area to learn directly from faculty, residents, and medical students representing a wide range of surgical disciplines.

Dr. Claire Lu, Dr. Natasha Radosevich, Dr. Christina Rufener, and medical students James Potts and Dallan Carlson (both planning to pursue anesthesiology) joined forces to teach students about the role of anesthesia in patient care. With generous support from the Simulation Team, who provided manikins and training devices, the group led a dynamic and interactive learning experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved for their time, enthusiasm, and dedication to outreach and education. Teaching is no small task, and this team made a lasting impact on students across all grade levels!
