We empower FMPH providers and patients at the University of Utah to engage in primary care-based research by transforming community healthcare questions into actionable studies. Through infrastructure, expertise, and clinical access, we support research from QI to clinical trials and translational science.
WHY WE DO IT
We believe primary care research drives better care, stronger systems, and healthier communities. By connecting scientists with real-world clinical settings, we accelerate discovery, inform policy, and close the gap between research and practice—ultimately improving population health.
HOW WE DO IT
- Promote and support research across FMPH, the University, and external partners.
- Protect clinic operations and provider/patient wellness by managing research burden and aligning with University governance.
- Build internal capacity and partnerships to foster mentorship and growth.
- Pursue external funding and prioritize T3/T4 translational projects that benefit patients, providers, and communities.
- Cultivate a culture of curiosity by empowering frontline clinicians and staff as research champions.
