EVALUATION SERVICES

PARCKA conducts comprehensive evaluations to understand and improve the effectiveness of interventions and services related to addictive health disorders. Our evaluation efforts span the continuum of care, assessing prevention, treatment, and recovery services in diverse settings. Evaluators utilize a variety of methods, including formative, process, outcome, and impact evaluations, to measure program effectiveness and inform best practices. Emphasizing the importance of addressing addiction within vulnerable populations, PARCKA evaluations focus on groups with higher risks of substance use, such as individuals experiencing homelessness, veterans, those with chronic pain or psychiatric disorders, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

A qualitative and quantitative evaluation of telehealth prescribing within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) funded by the Veterans Affairs Office of Connected Care. This evaluation examines trends in telehealth prescribing over time along with prescriber’s perspectives on telehealth prescribing within the VHA.

The SCOUTT operational initiative is working to implement a comprehensive plan to train interdisciplinary teams in Primary Care, General Mental Health, Pain Clinics and SUD Specialty Care clinics to deliver a stepped care model of medication treatment for opioid use disorder (M-OUD) to Veterans at his/her preferred care facility.

The Buprenorphine Dosing for OUD Outcomes and Studying Treatment Episodes (BOOST) evaluation involves 10 research projects. The overarching aims are to evaluate the outcomes of episodes of care for Veterans receiving high-dose daily buprenorphine OUD treatment; examine trends in Veteran exposure to high-dose buprenorphine; and characterize features of patients and healthcare settings where high-dose buprenorphine occurs.
