Rising Stars in Neuroscience Application

Application Process

Dates and Address

Submissions for Rising Stars in Neuroscience 2026 will be accepted early this Spring.

Once submitted, applicants will receive a confirmation response within 24 hours.

Submission Requirements

Please send a single PDF containing:

  • Your CV
  • Research Statement: Please include a one-page description of your scientific interests, academic achievements, and a short note about which faculty member you would be most interested in meeting with during the symposium and how your research might fit with theirs.
  • Community Contributions Statement: A one-page statement of your commitment and contributions to building a community for individuals from all backgrounds, including underserved communities.
  • Recommendations: Two letters of recommendation - Please have your references email their letters to rising.stars@neuro.utah.edu by January 9, with the subject line "Rising Stars in Neuroscience - Letter of Rec - [Name of Applicant]"

Eligibility

Participation is limited to pre-doctoral trainees who, at the application deadline, have completed a minimum of three (3) years of their doctoral training in a neuroscience-related program.  Competitive applicants will have demonstrated strong scientific merit and a commitment to building a community of equal opportunity for people of all backgrounds.
