2025-2026 Third Year Fellows

Dr. Aleks Abrahamowicz is a third year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from the University of Washington in 2019. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Washington in 2022 and held an appointment as a hospitalist for a year until her arrival in Utah.

Dr. Tally Desmarais is third year Chief Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, in 2020. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California in 2023.

Dr. Hanna Fanous is a third year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from Texas A&M University in 2020. She completed her internal medicine residency at Dell Medical School in 2023.

Dr. Vincent Huang is a third year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received his medical degree from University of Cincinnati College in 2020. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Utah in 2022.

Dr. Christian Klein is a third year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia in 2020. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Washington in 2023.

Dr. Ashley Goodwin is an Electrophysiology fellow in the EP 2+2 pathway. She received her medical degree from Ross University in 2019 and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco, Fresno in 2023. She completed the first two years of Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at the University of Utah before being accepted into the advanced two-year Electrophysiology program.

2025-2026 Second Year Fellows

Dr. Kate Alta is a second year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020.  She completed her medicine/pediatric residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2024.

Dr. Sujana Balla is a second year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, India, in 2019. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco, Fresno in 2024 after being chief resident for a year.

Dr. Jacqueline Dickey is a second year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston in 2021. She completed her internal medicine residency here at the University of Utah in 2024.

Dr. Diane Lu is a second year Chief Cardiovascular Disease fellow in the Physician Scientist track. She received her medical degree from the National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan, in 2007. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Utah in 2024.

Dr. Deborah Peana is a second year Cardiovascular Disease fellow in the Physician Scientist track.  She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2022. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Utah in 2024.

Dr. Chloe Theeuwes is a second year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from Wayne State University in 2021. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati in 2024.

2025-2026 First Year Fellows

Dr. Kate Callander is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2018.  She then went on to train in a Family Medicine residency for two years at the University of South Florida.  She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center in 2024.  She then spent one year doing research before beginning her Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.

Dr. Adiya Jaffari is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from the University of Washington Medical School in 2021.  She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in 2024.  She then spent a year as a cardiology hospitalist for a year before beginning her Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.

Dr. Ethan Krauspe is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2021. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Utah Medical Center in 2024. He then served as Chief Resident for one year at the University of Utah Medical Center.

Dr. Ree Lu is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received his medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2022. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2025.

Dr. Alex Quinn is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2020. He completed his Internal Medicine residency from Temple University Hospital in 2023. He then served as a chief resident for one year at Temple University Hospital.

Dr. Pamela Ropski is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 2021. She completed her Internal Medicine residency from McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 2024. She then served as a chief resident for one year at McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern University.

Dr. Karl Wallenkampf is a first year Cardiovascular Disease fellow who received his medical degree from Loma Linda School of Medicine in 2021. He completed his Internal Medicine residency from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2024. He then served as a chief resident for one year at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
