Congratulations to Dr. Casey Gradick in the Division of General Internal Medicine, who has been selected to receive the 2023 Early Career Educator Award in Health Sciences.
The Academy of Health Science Educators’ Advancing Excellence in Education Committee was impressed with Dr. Gradick's educational accomplishments, including innovations such as the first Med-Peds rural pathway in the nation, as well as efforts to promote wellness, diversity, equity, and inclusion in the University of Utah Health community.
Casey Gradick, MD, MPH, is an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics hospitalist and the Program Director for the Med-Peds Residency Program at the University of Utah. His clinical interests include medical education, empathy in medicine, and global/underserved/rural health. He is the PI for a HRSA grant focused on a Med-Peds rural pathway and has overseen development of indigenous health and rural trainee wellness curricula. His current research includes using natural language processing to foster holistic review in recruitment. Dr. Gradick received his MD and MPH from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Gradick will be formally recognized at the Academy of Health Science Educators Induction Ceremony on April 18, 2023.
