Dr. Gabrielle Langmann Selected for National Pilot on Hospice and Palliative Medicine Assessment

Gabrielle Langmann, MD, MS, FACP, FAAP, Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, has been selected to participate in a prestigious national pilot training course on assessment in hospice and palliative medicine (HPM). This highly competitive opportunity is offered through a collaboration between the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). Dr. Langmann is one of approximately 30 faculty members nationwide selected for this inaugural program.

The course—designed to equip HPM educators with the tools to create and implement effective, competency-based assessment strategies—marks the first specialty-specific pilot of ACGME’s “Developing Faculty Competencies in Assessment” curriculum. Participants will become leaders in advancing assessment practices and are expected to serve as future faculty for the course, helping scale this critical training across the nation.

Dr. Langmann’s selection highlights her national leadership in palliative medicine education and her dedication to enhancing medical training and patient care through evidence-based assessment methods. Her participation in this pilot will help shape the future of HPM training both locally and nationally.
